Members of the public are encouraged to submit their comments on Regional Inc’s plan of subdivision proposed for 175 Main Street until March 17, 2015. Following the deadline, comments will be reviewed and included in discussions between the City of Ottawa and Regional toward a mutually acceptable design for their plan of subdivision. The McIlraith Bridge will have occasional curb-side lane closures from mid-March until the end of April. Only one lane at a time will be closed, and the closures will only be in effect between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:30 pm. The closures are required to construct measures to mitigate possible harm to barn swallows and turtles resulting from the subsequent McIlratih Bridge reconstruction. On Monday, March 2, the OOECA is hosting a presentation and community discussion on preparing for spring flooding along the Rideau River. The presentation will focus on how the city prepares and responds to flooding, as well as a history of flooding in Old Ottawa East and future expectations. An emergency communications network pilot project for Brantwood Park is also being proposed. Meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Old Town Hall, 61 Main Street. All are welcome to attend and learn more about potential flooding along the Rideau River.

The City of Ottawa invites you to visit their environment trade show and attend a panel discussion to connect and hear from experts on wildlife conservation. "Wildlife and a Liveable City" begins at 6 p.m., and the panel discussion begins at 7:30 p.m., featuring Capital Ward councillor David Chernushenko. The event takes place at Ottawa City Hall, Jean Pigott Place, 110 Laurier Avenue West.
