The Main Street Farmer's Market, temporarily relocated during the Main Street reconstruction, is struggling at its new location in front of the Museum of Nature. Please stop by and support your local market on Saturdays between 9am and 2pm, at 240 McLeod Street in front of the Museum of Nature. You can read more stories from CBC and The Ottawa Citizen about the downturn in business affecting local farmer's markets.

Main Street (from Hawthorne Avenue to Lees Avenue) will be completely closed to traffic from Friday August 7th at night to early Monday morning of August 24th, 2015. During that period, the section of Main Street from Hawthorne Avenue to Greenfield Avenue will be open to both northbound and southbound traffic. The intersections of Main Street/Hawthorne Avenue (eastbound to northbound and southbound to westbound movements) and Main Street/Lees Avenue (westbound to southbound movement) will remain open to traffic. The recommended detour is via Greenfield Avenue.

In early June the city held a workshop to discuss options for a new public park in Greystone Village embracing both the Grande Allée and the forecourt of the Deschatelets Residence forecourt. Take a look at the three options and possible water, seating, games, shelter, surface features, etc. Any thoughts you have on the options and possible features would be appreciated at: info (at) ottawaeast (dot) ca.
