Main Street Construction Survival Guide now available online

At the last OOECA meeting, community association member Katherine Simonds presented a Main Street renewal construction survival guide. This guide is now available online. The Main Street Renewal Construction Survival Guide is available in the resources section of the Main Street Renewal page.

OC Transpo service on Sunday bike days

Beginning June 21, routes #5 and #16 northbound will now travel along Clegg, to McGillivray, Hazel, Echo and Colonel By from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This will only be on Sundays during the NCC bike days when Colonel By Drive is closed to traffic.

This alternate will have three new temporary stops, which will only be used on Sundays only from 9:00 -1:00 p.m.:
1. Route 5 - Clegg, east of McGillivray;

2. Routes 5 and 16 – Echo, south of the driveway to Immaculata High School

3. Routes 5 and 16 – Echo, south of Graham

Proposed Bike Lane Extension for Lees Avenue

The City of Ottawa has provided their final drawings for the bike lane extension on Lees Avenue. You can view the plan here.

Main Street Construction Newsletter #1

City staff have published their first newsletter with updates on the main street construction. The newsletter is available in English and French, and has a corresponding construction map. The newsletter is posted on our Main Street page, along with other background information on the construction. You can also follow @ottawaeast on Twitter for regular updates.

Public Workshop on Proposed New Oblates Park - June 2

A public workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 2, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed new park at 175 Main Street (Oblates Park). The workshop will be held in the gymnasium of Lady Evelyn Alternative School on Evelyn Avenue. There will be no formal presentation; rather, at the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to drop-in, view and provide feedback on conceptual design options for the future park.
