On Tuesday, September 16, representatives from The Regional Group will present their proposed development plan for the Oblate Lands. The meeting is open to all and will take place from 7-8:30 p.m., Amphitheatre, Saint Paul University (access from northern parking lot). The proposal is based on the Old Ottawa East community design plan and companion secondary plan.

Beginning Saturday, September 6, at 6 p.m., Highway 417 will be closed to traffic in both directions between Nicholas Street and Vanier Parkway for the installation of the new Lees Avenue Bridge.
Please note that lane reductions will be in place prior to the full closure, beginning as early as 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. A single lane of traffic is expected to be open by 11 a.m. on Sunday, September 7. Full reopening of all lanes in both directions should occur by 5 a.m. on Monday, September 8.

The Planning and Growth Management Department offers the Planning Primer Program to help residents become more aware of, and more involved in, the land-use planning process. The program is a series of half-day courses. Please see the city's website for a schedule of other Primer courses and descriptions.

Masonry finishing work to the retaining walls located along Colonel By Drive, between Echo Drive near Bank Street and Clegg Street, will begin Monday, August 4. This work will continue until September 2014. During the work period, the northbound lane of Colonel By Drive will be narrowed at all times. Traffic cones and directional signage will be on site to direct traffic and to ensure worker safety.

The City of Ottawa is anticipating the closure/re-routing of the Rideau River multi-use pathway due to construction. The west side pathway is expected to be closed as of August 11 for approximately 4-6 weeks. The east side pathway is expected to close in early September for approximately 4-6 weeks. Detour signs will be posted.
