Here is an update on the Rideau River pathways as LRT construction continues:
Eastern Pathway – currently open; scheduled to close as early as October 14 until the end of October. Alternate route maps will be in place at multiple access points.
Western Pathway – scheduled to remain closed until the end of October. A signed detour route is in place directing pedestrians and cyclists via Lees and Robinson.

Help keep our parks clean!
Brantwood Park clean-up on Saturday, October 11. Meet at the field house at 10:00 a.m. to pick up garbage and if there are enough, to cut burdock. Bring gloves. Bags will be provided.
Springhurst Park clean-up, also on Saturday, October 11. Meet at the basketball court at 10:00 a.m. to pick up garbage in Springhurst Park and along the shoreline to the transit way. Bags will be provided.

Hawthorne Avenue – Pretoria Bridge, from Colonel By Drive to Queen Elizabeth Drive will be closed for one day on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
City of Ottawa Special Operations Branch will be sealing the bridge joints in preparation for the winter season. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the closure.

The OECA, in conjunction with all community associations in Capital Ward, is co-hosting an all-candidates meeting for Captial Ward, in addition to all candidates for mayor. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 2, from 7 pm – 9:30 pm at the Glebe Community Centre. Time will be provided for questions from the audience.

Please note that Colonel By Drive, from Bronson Avenue to Hawthorne Avenue, will be closed for a special event, the National Peace Officers' Memorial Run, on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 2:15 pm to 3:15 pm.
