Work has commenced on replacement of the Nicholas street bridge on Highway 417. This work will result in some road, ramp, and lane closures through different phases of the construction. For more details see this Notice to Affected Residents / Avis Aux Résidences.

The path and river corridor behind the Greystone development will be closed starting at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, May 21, and will reopened to the public on Friday at 4:00 pm, May 24. The closure is necessary for the contractors to safely and efficiently complete the major earthwork activities required in that area. Fencing and signage at the parameters will be installed.

On Thursday, May 23, and Friday, May 24, from 9 am to 3 pm, the McIlraith Bridge will be reduced to one lane in each direction between Main Street and Smyth Road, for the bridge warranty inspection. Traffic signage will be in place. Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained on the bridge during inspection. Flex posts will be installed after the inspection.

Work is set to resume in May on sewer and water main work in the neighbourhood around Brantwood park. This work will include paving, infrastructure adjustments, and planting. For more details, read the April construction update on the City of Ottawa web site.
