The OOECA has sent a letter to the City of Ottawa with feedback on the new design for the Fifth-Clegg footbridge. You can read the full letter here.

Tree cutting will begin on the Domicile site at Main/Springhurst/Oblate beginning March 14, 2016. Appropriate tree protection measures will be taken for any trees that will be retained. Domicile will also begin prepping the site for construction during that week, and then the five townhouses on Main Street will be removed as soon as the City of Ottawa approves their demolition permit.

The northbound lane closure on Main Street from Clegg Street to Lees Avenue will remain in effect until September 2016. Beginning in May, the Main Street northbound lane from Riverdale Avenue to Clegg Street will also be closed to traffic until November 2016 (exact dates to be provided in April). Northbound traffic will continue to be detoured via Riverside Drive, Bank Street and Isabella Street. As a result of the northbound lane closure, OC Transpo buses will be detoured from Main Street.

The next SLOE (Sustainable Living Ottawa East) meeting will take place on Monday, March 14, 2016, at 7 pm at 166B Drummon Street. All are welcome to attend.

Beginning the week of March 14, 2016, the river pathway from Clegg Street to the Deschatelets Building will be closed. This temporary closure of the pathway on the southern portion of the Oblate Lands is planned for no more than two months. The closure is necessary to complete the removal of fill and re-grading the area near Clegg Street where the future multi-use pathway will go, resulting in a more accessible connection with Clegg Street. It’s expected the pathway will reopen to the public in early May 2016 and remain open over the course of the summer. In order to bypass the construction, pedestrians and cyclists will be required to detour using Springhurst-Main-Clegg.
